Victor Rolf and S/S '13

I have to admit that while I adore the big fashion houses like Dior and Channel, my heart will forever lie with Victor and Rolf. While I can't afford any of their designs (one day perhaps) I adore their perfumes especially Flowerbomb. Their Spring/Summer collection is probably one of my favorite I've seen in a long time.

It seems V&R are keeping with the current Black and White invasion and I adore these two toned dresses. I've always been a lover of B&W and especailly stripes and it seems that this summer, I'm in for a treat!

I love the avant-feminine look here (that's not a word... but it should be) The mixture of the sweet feminine looks, with the more masculine jacket and suit look is really, really interesting. It seems that the androgynous look of last season is mellowing.

Bows and Metallic.... swoon. I would love a (cheaper) shorter version of the top skirt in perhaps a metallic silver.

In general, I'm loving all this flowing material. I especially love the mixture of dark and light - Black is not a usual colour that's prominant in summer but there's something about this collection that I think can make it fit. Victor and Rolf - you've captured my heart again. You can see the rest of the the line here

What's your favorite fashion house and what trends and you loving for s/s?

Sail away for a year and the day...

Hello, it's been a while! I've been busy running working and reading and trying to sleep. I also have a nifthy new laptop so i'll actually be able to use the internet now without having a nervous breakdown. Anyways since it's January, it's sales time again and I have to admit my local stores are ddreadful! I didn't buy one thing this year (except my laptop and  a lipstick) so I decided to take a little trip up to Dublin today. These are the pretty things I got!

Firstly jewerly. I'm too lazy to get plugs so I decided to buy too pairs of fakes which give the effect, minus the effort. The Topshop pair I had my eye on for ages but wasn't willing to pay 12.50e. I happily got these for 1.50e which made my day. Sadly Topshop didn't have much in my size (or price range) in the sale. The other pair are Miss Selfridge. I dont usually wear rings but I have started wearing them. This skull is from Miss Selfridge and the bow is from Forever 21.

I a bit of a Disney freak and I have tonnes of Disney hoodies and tees and pjs but still, what's one more? This isn't a sale item but for only 19.95 in Forever 21, it's a steal! It's also adorable and they wash so well that I couldn't leave it there! They have Power Ranger ones too!
I own far too  many shirts but alas, they're comfey and a style staple. This is a cute little stonewash one from Pennys (Primark) I also got a beautiful black one from New Look for onle 8e! They go with loads and are handy for a trip to town or coffee with friends!

Berska is such a great store in my opinion and it's sorry to say that there's not more of them in Ireland! I got this lovely top there and it goes cute with my gray swing skirt (Pennys again) I got another stripey skirt in H&M - another store we need more of! These are great little spring buys and will be perfect for when the weather gets warmer!

Finially, I needed new make-up. For the past couple of months I've been using Essence Mousse foundation but now I've decided to try something different. They shade is Light Porceline and it's pale enough for me, thank heck! I have yet to try it propperly though so we'll see! I also got a Biffy Clyro album.

Spring's coming and I can feel it in the air. I can't wait for lighter clothes and to be able to leave the house without 500 layers! I also can't wait to see what new styles and fashions we see over the next few weeks! This is an exciting time of year in the fashion world!

Did you get anything nice in the sales?

Diamond Dawns - Accessories time!

Long time no blog..... I have finally gotten a job (in a service station/deli.... but a job all the same) so I've been heaps occupied! But with hard work come money and I can now happily buy much needed new clothes (and save for college and a new laptop and my car.... heesh) I got some pretty accessories in the last few days. I haven't always like accessories, but lately I'm in love with jewerly! Maybe it's a getting-older thing.

I got this beautiful skull necklace in Vintage Trig (find them online here) There's ear-rings and a ring to match too that I'm getting for Christmas. It was only €8 which is a steal and it really is a piece I love. I'm into things with skulls again lately (I got a skull scarf and cardie too!) The store is also amazing and the women that runs it is so sweet. She's always helpful and puts up with me asking 6 trillion questions about everything. I really wist there where more stores that offered such great customer service. If you're a vintage fan, check out their website!

I find it hard to find presents for my best friend (who has everything) so I thought to make her a gift package. Again in Vintage Trig I found this beautiful wing ring for €6 and had to buy it! It's so unusual and pretty! It also reminded me a little of Supernatural and the angle wings in that so it's even more special.

I then wandered for my regular window-shop in Topshop (it's just so damn expensive!) and came across a sale on the Freedom jewerly *squeel* I had wanted this necklace for weeks but wasn't willing to pay almost €20 for it. Thankfully I got it for €9 which is much more justifiable! It's so edgy and on trend! I plan on wearing it with a jumper/top or with my shirt as pictured.

Finally I pottered on up to Dorethy Perkins where I got this beauty for €3.50. It's a locket and I love it's vintage feel. It looks kind of like a timepiece from the Victorian ages and for that price, I couldn't leave it there! My only fault is that the chain is really, really long but I can fix that.

Staying on the subject of vintage, models.com shared a beautiful feature on one of the iconic beaut's of the 70s Donna Jordan in their daily feed. She is so classy and beautiful and I'm so shocked I had never heard of her before. This is such a fabulous shot and looks as thought it could be from a recent shoot. The 70s peplim style has really come back in a big way lately. I'm not a fan of it for myself but I can certainly see it's appeal. It's very slimming and gives a great shape

Anyways, time for bed for me. I have to work int he morning. What accessories do you love?

G.I Jane in training.. of sorts.

I am in lust with the entire J.W. Anderson for Tophop range  but alas don't own anything from it (just yet) It's young, hip and pop culture inspired which I adore. The patterns are adorable and fun and it seems to be such a fresh look for Topshop. I especially love the cute Hallowe'en-esque jumpers which are perfect for this time  of year and the Striped Cotton dress because it'd be super adorable with my lovely red leather jacket. The range is a little steeply priced but it's designer meets Topshop so I suppose I can't be asking for miracles (but if there is a miracle granter, I'd like so much of this ranger please and thanks) They also don't stock ANY of this ranger in my local Topshop (which is basically a corner of Debenhams)  so if I even want to try something on, I'll have to trek to Dublin or Cork (I'm not a fan of on-line shopping at all) I suppose my birthday is around the corner.... I better start a want list.
In other news, today I found out I didn't get yet another job so I trekked around town a-la G.I Jane with my Docs and in my new Dress-green style jacket (Dunnes - €40) I am loving the current military style trends today and certainly will be taking advantage of my new jacket this winter!
