Diamond Dawns - Accessories time!

Long time no blog..... I have finally gotten a job (in a service station/deli.... but a job all the same) so I've been heaps occupied! But with hard work come money and I can now happily buy much needed new clothes (and save for college and a new laptop and my car.... heesh) I got some pretty accessories in the last few days. I haven't always like accessories, but lately I'm in love with jewerly! Maybe it's a getting-older thing.

I got this beautiful skull necklace in Vintage Trig (find them online here) There's ear-rings and a ring to match too that I'm getting for Christmas. It was only €8 which is a steal and it really is a piece I love. I'm into things with skulls again lately (I got a skull scarf and cardie too!) The store is also amazing and the women that runs it is so sweet. She's always helpful and puts up with me asking 6 trillion questions about everything. I really wist there where more stores that offered such great customer service. If you're a vintage fan, check out their website!

I find it hard to find presents for my best friend (who has everything) so I thought to make her a gift package. Again in Vintage Trig I found this beautiful wing ring for €6 and had to buy it! It's so unusual and pretty! It also reminded me a little of Supernatural and the angle wings in that so it's even more special.

I then wandered for my regular window-shop in Topshop (it's just so damn expensive!) and came across a sale on the Freedom jewerly *squeel* I had wanted this necklace for weeks but wasn't willing to pay almost €20 for it. Thankfully I got it for €9 which is much more justifiable! It's so edgy and on trend! I plan on wearing it with a jumper/top or with my shirt as pictured.

Finally I pottered on up to Dorethy Perkins where I got this beauty for €3.50. It's a locket and I love it's vintage feel. It looks kind of like a timepiece from the Victorian ages and for that price, I couldn't leave it there! My only fault is that the chain is really, really long but I can fix that.

Staying on the subject of vintage, models.com shared a beautiful feature on one of the iconic beaut's of the 70s Donna Jordan in their daily feed. She is so classy and beautiful and I'm so shocked I had never heard of her before. This is such a fabulous shot and looks as thought it could be from a recent shoot. The 70s peplim style has really come back in a big way lately. I'm not a fan of it for myself but I can certainly see it's appeal. It's very slimming and gives a great shape

Anyways, time for bed for me. I have to work int he morning. What accessories do you love?

Do you hear the people sing?

As a HUGE Les Miserable fan, December's edition of Vogue US is certainly a treat for me. The Beautiful Anne Hathaway who will play Fantine in the upcoming Tom Hooper adaptation of Hugo's masterpiece looks stunning on the cover. Inside, a detailed article about Anne's involvement in the film that's sure to be a success. What I love more then anything about this edition is the beautiful shots on Anne in a Ralph Lauren Collection gold-embroidered vest which embodies Enjoras - a revolutionary leader from Les Mis. I love the reference to the film and modernization of such a well know costume.

Moreover, the photographer of these wonderful shots also compiled a spew of photo's of other cast members for this edition - many done in portrait style to suit the French Revolution era in which the story is set. I love how they look so much like they are from that time era and they don't actually look like a shoot- they're so real.  You can almost imagine if the characters became real, that this is how they'd have been photographed.
Amanda Seyfried and Eddie Redmayne as the young lovers Cosette and Marius

I am so excited for Les Mis' release on Jan 11th (Irish release date according tot he posters I've seen at the cinema!) that I almost cried when I saw the trailer first I'm currently trying to finish the Brick (or at least get half way through it) in time for the film's release as I'll be there opening day!  These photos only excite me more and I cannot wait to see how Tom Hooper has brought the Les Mis world to life!
You can see more photo's and read the article that accompanies them here and here respectively.

What films are you excited for?

P.S All photos are by Annie Leibovitz and are to be found in Vogue Us' Dec edition. I don't own nothing!
P.P.S I hate the Winter and all this damn cold and rain. grrrrrr.
